1. Make a plan to enrich and strengthen your spiritual walk with God.
God knows you from the inside out. He knows your pain, your insecurities – He gets you 100%. In my personal experience, I can definitely confirm the fact that if you trust God, whatever your circumstances, He will strengthen you to achieve goals.
2. Make the decision to embrace a positive mental outlook for a healthier mind and more optimistic future. It is easy to have a negative state of mind if all we do is focus on our own problems. One thing is definite – we all have problems. If we aren’t careful, we become people who only view life through the "lens of our own problems.” Telling ourselves negative “self-talk” poisons our ability to see the whole picture regarding having hope for the future and also frequently causes the inability to make positive changes.
3. Choose to improve your physical body and your general health by making better lifestyle changes. Focus on better eating, adequate exercise, and self-care. Frequently, I have noticed that people have a tendency to put their physical well-being at the bottom of their priority list. In so doing, their heath suffers. I can tell you from personal experience that poor health negatively affects everything else in your life; your thinking, behavior, and even relationships with those you love.
4. Make the decision to seek and associate with positive people who contribute to enhancing your life – and making a positive impact on you. It is obviously impossible to be able to choose every person who is involved in our lives. Having said this, we can choose wisely in selecting the people we have for friends, as well as the groups we join and participate in on a regular basis. Positive, encouraging people will enhance your thought process, helping you deal better with negative situations, as well as lending to your optimism regarding the future.
5. No matter what happens, DON’T GIVE UP! Seek answers and be committed to finding solutions for your problems. I was once told by a major medical clinic, “There is nothing we can do for you.” I could have very easily become depressed and easily given up. But with the help of God in my life and a strong determination, I made the decision that there had to be a way out of my life-altering dilemma. And, I was determined to find a way. Remember, most importantly, you are not alone.
